Holiday Puces POP Events Recap

It's been a jampacked holiday season here at Puces POP! We kicked things off on November 19th with the latest edition of our Lil Biz seminar series for artists. This Saturday afternoon event at The Plant loftspace featured inspiring presentations by Angie Johnson (designer for Norwegian Wood), Myrite Rotstein (Holistic Health Coach at Tasty Life), Amber Goodwyn (Founder/Publisher of Lickety Split smut zine), Douglas Leahey (Business Coach at YES Montreal), and Becky Emlaw (Co-founder of Citizen Vintage, Partner at L'Arterie), as well as delicious coffee from Cafe Myriade and fresh pastries from Boulangerie Clarke.

As lead-up to our Holiday Fair, we presented a brand new event, the Puces POP-up Boutique, which took place at Studio OFF Interarts from Nov 30th to Dec 4th. Featuring a sampling of work from 30 craft fair vendors, the shop was visited by hundreds of happy shoppers over its 5 days. At the opening party on the first night, many of Puces POP's showcasing artists from past and present were in attendance, as well as various local media. Partygoers enjoyed gluten-free cupcakes by Patisserie La Suite and tropical rum cake by Island Organix Bakery while they browsed the shop.

Over the weekend of December 10th and 11th, we took over the basement of St-Enfant Jesus Church for our flagship artisanal exhibition, the Puces POP Craft & DIY Fair, playing host to some 90 local vendors of handcrafted art and design. The Kids POP craft table was buzzing all weekend long with the sounds of happy little crafters, shoppers found unique holiday gifts for their friends and families, and Sabine Alpers' kitchen team kept us all warm and well-fed with their yummy farm-fresh fare.

We closed out the weekend with POP Bingo, a fun Sunday night of gaming with prizes donated by Puces POP vendors. Tachido, the newest Mexican restaurant on the block had 3 generations of family serving tasty eats and cold refreshments, from four kinds of tacos to freshly blended watermelon and cantaloupe punch.
